Mortuary and Crematory are proud to sponsor a 100K (62 miles) and 50K
(31 miles) spring bike ride on Sunday, May 4, 2008. Join us for the twelfth annual Rose Hill Rally, a relaxing family bike tour!
Cyclists
of all ages and abilities will be able to enjoy the wonderful scenery
and climate of the Grand Valley on this non-race ride. Proceeds benefit
Rose Hill Hospitality House, an accommodation for St. Mary's out of
town patients and their families.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This
bike ride is a choice of 100 kilometers (62 miles), or 50 kilometers
(31 miles). The ride will begin and end at Canyon View Park (24 Road
Exit off I-70). The course is designed to allow riders of all abilities
to have an enjoyable time. Cyclists will wind their way through the
beautiful farm country of the valley.
MORE TO SEE AND DO BEFORE THE RALLY: Come
to Grand Junction a day early and visit local wineries, ride the
Colorado National Monument, or enjoy the Fruita Fat Tire Festival.
AT THE START: Riders
begin the course between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. for both the 100K and
the 50K distance. Pick up your ride packet at Canyon View Park between
6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Your entry fee includes:
- Rider breakfast and hot lunch
- Rose Hill Rally t-shirt
- Course map and description
- Support and food services wrist band
- Scavenger hunt for children
DURING THE RIDE: All
participants are required to wear A.N.S.I. approved helmets. The ride
is fully supported. Ride support ends at 1:00 p.m. Rest stations will
be spaced throughout the 50K and 100K routes.
WRAP IT UP: Plan
on listening to some great music provided by KOOL 107.9 FM while you
enjoy your post-ride meal. You and your friends may also enjoy a
complimentary massage, prize drawings, Bump 'n Jump play area for the
children, sidewalks and rink for in-line skating, and scenic views.
TEAMS: Teams
of six or more riders will receive special t-shirts and members'
names will be placed in a special drawing for prizes. All team rider
entry forms, waivers and checks must be included in the same envelope.
Please include team name. Applications must be mailed by April 19,
2008. Team member fees are $30 each (adult), $20 each (youth).
TO REGISTER: Fill out the Official Entry Form and Rider Waiver
and mail it on or before April 26, 2008 along with your check. Your
entry fee includes your bike ride, breakfast, support vehicles, rest
station refreshments, and a post-ride meal. You will also receive a
T-shirt commemorating the event. Meal tickets for non-riding family or
friends are available for purchase. Lunch starts at 11:00 a.m.
You
may register the day of the event from 6:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. (for an
additional $5 charge). The t-shirts and meal tickets will be on a
first-come-first-served basis.
