Meet the surgeon February 9 for weight loss surgery
February 03, 2010
Although the actual operation is only part of a surgical weight loss program, it’s the part many people ask questions about first. “That’s why St. Mary’s is sponsoring a ‘Meet the Surgeon’ session for people contemplating weight loss surgery,” says Karen Milbank, RN, MPH, coordinator of St. Mary’s weight loss surgery program.
The one-hour presentation will include an overview of weight loss surgery and specific information about St. Mary’s surgical and support services. “Weight loss surgery patients who have support before and after surgery are far more successful in losing weight long term and improving their overall health,” Milbank says. St. Mary’s surgical weight management program includes education, evaluation, support from dietitians, counselors, exercise experts, and membership in the Wellness Center fitness club.
