Hospital employees honored for years of service

Special events often have a guest of honor or two. On February 3, St. Mary’s hosted an event honoring 301 special guests. What could 301 people do that would still be considered “special”? They have put their time and talents to work to serve St. Mary’s patients and families.
“Each year we honor our employees celebrating landmark service anniversaries … five years, 10 years, 15 and so on,” says Mike McBride, St. Mary’s president and chief executive officer. “I am humbled to shake their hands knowing how long and how loyally they have served St. Mary’s and, more importantly, served our patients.”
The 301 employees honored represent almost 4,000 years of service and experience. “An amazing 19 employees marked 30 years of service and six have been here 35 years,” McBride says. The annual event is a great reminder of the number and variety of people and professions it takes to run a hospital.
“While two words hardly seem sufficient to express appreciation for employees who dedicate their working lives to helping others, we ask the community to join us in saying ‘thank you’ to our employees,” McBride adds.
