Oncology Art Exhibit Reception

April 08, 2015

Facebook Oncology ExhibitSt. Mary’s Medical Center and School District 51 invite the public to a unique Oncology Art Exhibit at St. Mary’s Regional Cancer Center Lobby in Grand Junction, April 16 from
5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The exhibit features the work of 21 artists who have donated their art to be enjoyed by people living with cancer who are patients at St. Mary’s twelve bed Oncology Unit.  Half of the art in the exhibit is from the “Ceilings for Healing” project, a collaboration with School District 51.  Each room in the Oncology Unit will have one of the 24” x 24” tiles installed above the bed.

The other half of the exhibit consists of wall art that was created and donated by local artists, most of whom share their talent once a year by teaching a St. Mary’s Cancer Center Art Exploration class for people living with cancer. Their artwork will be hung on the walls of the same oncology patient rooms.

The event is free, open to the public, and no reservations are required. Light refreshments will be served.
