Home-Delivered Meals If you are 60 or older and homebound, call the Gray Gourmet office to learn about home-delivery services. Weekday and weekend frozen meals are available. Customers can request two frozen entrees to be included with their Friday lunch delivery. These entrees feature a balanced meal and can be reheated in a microwave or a conventional oven.
The Gray Gourmet menu is designed by our staff dietitian and meets today’s nutrition requirements for people age 60 and above. An average meal features 600-800 calories and has less than 1,200 mg of sodium. Prepared fresh in our kitchen daily, each home delivered meal features a hot portion and a cold side, and 1% milk is available upon request. All Gray Gourmet customers receive the same meal. No customized meals are available. The meal containers are microwaveable.
Meals are delivered to local residents by community volunteers in their own vehicles. Program recipients are expected to be home to receive their lunch Monday through Friday between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
All meals served, both frozen and hot, are a suggested donation of $3.00 each. Customers receive a statement at the beginning of each month stating how many meals you received in the previous month.
Cancellations are required at least one (1) day in advance if you have doctor appointments or other reasons you cannot be home. All cancellations must be called in.

Senior Companions
Helping neighbors stay independent: Senior Companion programs across the country help older adults remain healthy, independent, and in their own homes. Without this help, many older adults would be forced to leave their homes for assisted living facilities or nursing homes. Mesa County seniors 60 years and older get help and friendship through St. Mary's Senior Companion program.
A Senior Companion can:
- Help with daily activities, such as grocery shopping, bill paying, and simple household tasks
- Provide transportation to shopping and medical appointments
- Become part of the senior's caregiver team, making sure they take their medicine, and alerting doctors or family members to potential health problems
- Encourage seniors to remain active
- Offer seniors contact with the world outside their homes and make their lives less lonely
- Provide support and relief to family caregivers
