James Narrod, MD

James Narrod, MD, joined St. Mary's Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery in 2004 after practicing in Denver and New York. He earned a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduated from the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Narrod completed an internship and residency and served as chief resident in general surgery at the University of Colorado Health Science Center, Denver. He completed a fellowship in cardiovascular surgery at New York University Medical Center, New York City.

Dr. Narrod performs all general cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery including coronary bypass, valve repair and replacement, aneurysm repair, and surgical treatment of esophageal and lung cancer. He is also trained in minimally invasive cardiac surgical techniques.

He served as surgery instructor at the University of Colorado Health Science Center and New York University Medical Center. He was head of the vascular lab, medical director of the Progressive Care Unit, and head of heart and lung transplantation at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver. Dr. Narrod served as chief of surgery at Mercy Medical Center in Denver, a post he currently holds at St. Mary's.
