The 2013 Palliative Care Summit is designed for physicians, nurses, certified nursing assistants, pharmacists, social workers, discharger planners, chaplains/spiritual care professionals, and others working in a hospital, long-term care, private practice, or health plan/insurance setting. At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe what palliative care is and its effectiveness in the care of the seriously ill
  • Explain the importance of palliative care in health care delivery
  • Discuss and compare the differences between palliative care and hospice care

Registration is by mail only and must be postmarked by October 31. Payment is by check and due at time of registration. A registration form will be posted soon.

• $25 per participant; $15 for students
• No charge for HopeWest and St. Mary’s associates

These activities have been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). St. Mary’s Hospital and Medical Center is accredited by the Colorado Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

St. Mary’s Hospital and Medical Center designates each of these live activities for a maximum of 5.5 credit hour AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Participants should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Certificates of Attendance will be provided for participants interested in applying for CE credit from professional chaplain associations.
