Clinical Integration

Clinical integration can improve the quality and efficiency of our health care system, but it also greatly impacts progress in the scientific arena. The coordination and collaboration among scientists and clinicians facilitates the advancement of translational research. In essence, clinical integration creates an environment whereby infrastructure and resources can be shared. Furthermore, the development of interdependent relationships can foster scientific advancement and mentoring.

Being a part of St. Mary's Hospital and Regional Medical Center allows the Institute to interact with varied clinical specialties. Interdisciplinary research teams include scientists, clinicians and support staff to facilitate collaborative research in basic, clinical and translational medicine.
