In addition to exceptional diagnostic, assessment, and treatment services, St. Mary's Cancer Care Center addresses the emotional aspects of dealing with cancer.
Cancer Rehabilitation Program
Our Cancer Rehabilitation Program, offered through St. Mary's Life Center, is committed to improving quality of life for cancer patients through individualized rehabilitation exercise. Sessions help patients maximize independence in daily activities, improve strength and endurance, decrease fatigue, and manage pain.
Our therapists develop individualized exercise plans based on muscle strength and endurance, cardiopulmonary function, lifestyle, activity and fatigue levels. Our rehab team of physical therapists, occupational therapists and exercise physiologists with specialized training in cancer rehabilitation, are also available to help with lymphedema management, energy conservation, dietary consultation, relaxation techniques, and warm water pool therapy.
Cancer Survivorship Resource Center
The Resource Center, open to cancer survivors, their supporters, and the general public, contains books, internet access, pamphlets and audio and visual resources in English and Spanish, with information about types and treatments of cancer, and how to manage cancers side effects and after effects.
Grant supported through the Lance Armstrong LiveSTRONG Foundation, the Resource Center has a full time Cancer Survivorship Program Coordinator to address the challenges specific to cancer survivors.
St. Mary's Regional Cancer Center empowers every cancer patient to survive well through our Healing Arts therapies, and the Survivor's Focus Group.

Nutrition Services
Good nutrition is recognized as an important factor for those in cancer treatment. Our full-time registered dietitian helps patients maintain or improve their nutrition before, during, and after cancer treatments.
Social Services
Our full-time oncology social worker provides individual, family and group counseling, education, advocacy, case management, and discharge planning. We believe no patient should go without care because of financial circumstances, and we help patients and family members apply for assistance, social security disability, FMLA, and investigate local and national resources.
Spiritual Care
St. Mary's Spiritual Care chaplains understand that medical care is only part of the experience of a cancer diagnosis. Respectful of all faiths and belief systems, a non-denominational chaplain provides spiritual support based on each patient's needs. Chaplains are present to listen, comfort and guide patients and families through difficult discussions and decisions. Techniques for relaxation, guided imagery, and meditation are offered to enhance healing. Our peaceful Reflection Room is open to everyone looking to "just get away."
