Patient Information Guide

Calling a St Mary's Hospital Patient

To contact a patient directly dial 970-248-3 (and the last three digits of the room number).

Cash Machine

An automatic teller machine is located by the information desk at entrance 4 of the hospital. This cash machine is available to patients and their families 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Cell Phones

Cell phones have proven to interfere with critical care patient equipment.  For the safety of our patients, we ask that you refrain from using cellular equipment while in the hospital.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Chapel & Spiritual Care

During time of illness, it is common to be frightened, discouraged, and emotionally stressed. The three full-time and six part-time clinically trained Spiritual Care chaplains provide ministry focusing on the spiritual and emotional needs of the patient, family and staff. Chaplains offer support to patients and family members. The Spiritual Care team often maintains ongoing communication and support throughout treatment and recovery. If a loss occurs, chaplains are available for grief counseling.

Chaplains serve in all areas of our hospital and are available to provide support and comfort to patients and family members in times of need. Nursing staff can contact a chaplain when requested.

Because St. Mary's Hospital recognizes patients bring with them a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds, chaplains minister to each individual, sensitive to the patient's personal beliefs.

You may want to contact a chaplain if:

  • you are facing change or loss.
  • an ethical dilemma arises.
  • you need encouragement.
  • you are afraid or anxious.
  • you feel inadequate and helpless.
  • you want to celebrate and give thanks.
  • you desire prayer or someone to talk with.

A member of the nursing staff can contact a chaplain for you, or you can dial the operator on a hospital phone.

The hospital chapel, located in the Valley Zone on the first floor, is open 24 hours a day for quiet reflection or prayer.

Flowers, Gifts & Mail

Flowers sent to patients will be delivered to their rooms by a volunteer as soon as they are received.  Please be aware that certain rooms may restrict flowers and plants.  Letters and packages are delivered each morning. When patients depart, any mail sent to them at the hospital will be forwarded to their homes.
